Introduction

Our Story
Head . Heart . Hands

The Imani story began in the early 2000s, born out of heartbreak and necessity.

Imani Christian School was initiated in the early 2000s supported by a group of 15 grandparents who were left to take care of their grandchildren after their parents died of HIV/AIDS. There was an immediate need to give hope to these families. The grandparents approached the director for support, who came in as the main program supporter.

Since its inception, the school has supported more than 1,000 children through directors pulling their resources together. In 2017, the directors established a boarding school environment after recognizing home-based challenges such as lack of food, lack of electricity, child labor, abuse, and poor health. Today, the school accommodates 200 boys and girls with full scholarships.
